This message is sent to all parents with a child enrolled in an FCPS school.
Families in Fairfax County Public Schools may be able to get low-cost Internet at home through a national program that Cox Communications is participating in called Connect2Compete. If you have at least one child enrolled in the free school lunch program, you may be eligible for Internet service for only $9.95 a month and a free modem rental from Cox Communications. Families in areas served by Comcast may be able to get low-cost Internet and low-cost computers through the Comcast Internet Essentials program. To learn more about Internet Essentials and how to register, please call 1-855-846-8376 or visit internetessentials.com .
If you know of any families in need of a computer please send them my way. With a free computer and this low cost internet program, we could level the playing field for students. I have a bunch of desktops and laptops ready for a good place to live.
