![]() Hello all! I have updated the Computer Equipment for Kids Wish List. The biggest thing I need right now are hard drives. I received a large donation from a government contractor but all the hard drives had been removed. So I am looking for 10 WD - Western Digital 160GB SATA 3.5 Hard Drive - WD1600AAJS drives. They are around 30 bucks. A small price to pay to help in the learning of a child. And as always thanks for all the help and support! mark Received this email from the FCPS Outreach program:
A message from FAIRFAX COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS This message is sent to all parents with a child enrolled in an FCPS school. Families in Fairfax County Public Schools may be able to get low-cost Internet at home through a national program that Cox Communications is participating in called Connect2Compete. If you have at least one child enrolled in the free school lunch program, you may be eligible for Internet service for only $9.95 a month and a free modem rental from Cox Communications. To learn more about the program and how to register, please call toll free 1-855-222-3252 or visit Connect2Compete.org/Cox Families in areas served by Comcast may be able to get low-cost Internet and low-cost computers through the Comcast Internet Essentials program. To learn more about Internet Essentials and how to register, please call 1-855-846-8376 or visit internetessentials.com . If you know of any families in need of a computer please send them my way. With a free computer and this low cost internet program, we could level the playing field for students. I have a bunch of desktops and laptops ready for a good place to live. Mr. Bartlett ![]() I have created a 'wish list' on Amazon for the Computer Equipment for Kids Program. The list contains items we could use in repairing donated machines. Most of these items are less than buying 3 coffees. Thanks for the Help!! Link for Wish List: http://amzn.com/w/1FAFAFPTVISSN Bartlett Today I checked my mailbox and to my surprise there was a package addressed to me. I brought the package in, opened it, and found it contained a laptop hard drive. Someone had bought a hard drive that was on the Computer Equipment for Kids Amazon Wish List. There was no note in the package to tell me who purchased the drive so I'm sending out a THANK YOU to EVERYONE!!!!!! The response I have received about the Computer Equipment for Kids Program has been mind blowing and I look forward to expanding this program into new areas over the next few months.
Happy Easter Mr. Bartlett Mission Statement: I've delivered about 3 computers in the last week, I would like to thank everyone who has donated time and equipment to this effort. If anyone knows of any non-profit organizations which need computer equipment for a training/learning lab please send them my way. I have about 6 workstations that need a home.
Thanks Bartlett Finally got around to creating a flyer for the Computer Equipment for Kids program. If you are a teacher, therapist, baby sitter in Norther Virgina please print this flyer out and show it to someone (principal, helper at daycare center, youth leader, etc). I have a few machines that are ready for a new home. ![]()
![]() The Computer Equipment for Kids Program now has a new logo! Big thank you to Mike Bartlett for designing it. I currently have 4 computers that are ready to roll out the door, if you know any families with children in K-8 Grade in need of a computer please drop me a line: [email protected] ![]() Last week I had the pleasure to give a couple of computers to the Opportunities For Change program. Opportunities for Change helps ex-offenders gain the skills needed to rejoin and become successful in society. Some of the major components of the OforC program:
Bartlett Hello all,
Hopefully everyone is GREAT and gearing up for this holiday season. While you are out buying new gadgets (tablets, laptops, computers, etc) remember your old devices can be used by someone else! The Computer Equipment for Kids Program will take all your old USABLE gadgets (tablets, laptops, computers, etc), refurbish them (which includes formatting/clearing the data off the device), and distribute them to K-6 graders who are in need. I am currently working on getting the "Computer Equipment for Kids Program" turned into an official "Non-Profit" organization so I can accept donations directly to purchase computer equipment. If you have anything you wish to donate PLEASE contact me: [email protected]. Please 'share' this out, the more eyes the more donations. Happy Holidays! Bartlett PS. The Computer Equipment for Kids Program is ALWAYS looking for donations, especially the following:
